Developing your ancestral roots in Ireland is our prime objective.
Since the foundation of Diversity Family History in 2008 we have seen tremendous changes in the access to records and historical information, but navigating archival material can be challenging. I have been privileged over the years to assist members of the diaspora and their descendants to discover and expand their knowledge of their Irish ancestral roots. In the course of these micro-studies I have conducted research in almost every county in Ireland. Determining the correct location in Ireland has often necessitated extensive preliminary research in the ‘new’ country of England, Canada and the United States. I specialize in 18th and 19th century families.
Critical-thinking and analytical skills with Irish records have proven very successful in uncovering hidden gems about my own and my client’s ancestors. It is often an emotional experience for many of my clients as we travel beyond the names and delve into daily life of their ancestor. Looking through the lens of modern society, back to a time, when disease, famine, war and revolution was offset by personal triumph and victory that transcended political and religious divide. It is often intricate for descendants to understand the roles religion and land have played in the lives of their ancestors in Ireland, so as much as possible I encourage you to read widely on Irish history.
